Mohammad Forkanul Hamid is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Fisheries at the University of Chittagong. His research interests lie in the field of marine biology. Particularly, he is investigating the coral and their associated habitats for understating the ecological interactions among organisms and the surrounding environment.
Fazilatun Nesa is currently pursuing her second MSc in Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management at Wageningen University and Research in The Netherlands. She obtained her BSc and first MSc at the University of Chittagong (Bangladesh), where she established a solid foundation in Marine Sciences.
Monisha Das is pursuing her MSc degree at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. She obtained her BSc, major in Marine Science from the same institute. Her research interests span issues in the field of physical oceanography. Particularly, she is investigating to better understand the dynamic coastal processes and interactions that shape and modify coastlines through the actions of waves, tides, and currents.
Saidul Afnan is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Marine Sciences at the University of Chittagong, where he previously completed his Bachelor’s degree in the same major. His research interest spans in the field of physical oceanography.
Sazzad Ahmed Bhuiyan is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. His research interest focuses on the fields of oceanography, with a particular emphasis on the seafloor settings and biophysical processes that are shaping benthic comminutes.
Aisharja Chowdhury is a senior undergraduate student in the University off Chittagong, who is taking her major in Marine Science at the Institute of Marine Sciences. Her research interests lie in the field of oceanography. Particularly, she is interested in understanding the environmental functions of the tropical coastal habitats.
Mahmuda Akter Popy is currently pursuing her BSc in Marine Sciences at the University of Chittagong. Her research interests lie in the field of marine biotechnology to promote the blue economy of the country. Particularly, she is interested to explore the marine resources focusing macro- and micro-organisms and their secondary metabolites, which have been structurally optimized by environmental pressures and exert particular functions due to chemical interactions between the host, its microbiome and the ecosystem.
Sadia Osman Lorin is in the final year of her undergraduate studies at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. Her research interests encompass the domains of biological oceanography including coastal ecological engineering.
Kifaet Wahid Polok is an undergraduate Marine Science student, focused on studying sharks and rays in unique marine environment. With a deep passion for marine biodiversity, Polok has spent a couple of years conducting field research on the habitat preferences, feeding behaviors, and ecological roles of elasmobranch species (sharks and rays) in this biologically rich yet fragile ecosystem and fish landing sites in Bangladesh.
MD. Talif Mia is a fourth-year BSc (Hons) student at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. His research interests lie in the field of biological oceanography. Particularly, he is interested in understanding the eco-morphological responses of coastal ecosystems (e.g. coral, seagrass, saltmarsh and mangroves) in changing climate.
Asad Chowdhury Rafi is an undergraduate student majoring in Marine Science at University of Chittagong. His primary research interest lies in coastal and marine aquaculture as he has always been passionate about sustainable food production systems that can help meet global food demands while preserving aquatic environments. Currently, Rafi has been investigating to improve the photo-bioreactor technology for indoor micro-algal production.
Kazi Md. Safayet Shabab is an enthusiastic student in the fourth year of the Bachelor of Science (Honors) program at the Institute of Marine Sciences (IMS), University of Chittagong. He has keen interest in the field of oceanography. Particularly, he is investigating the physical factors that regulate the biological performances and ecological succession of corals and their associate species in turbid marine ecosystems.
Mahmudul Hasan is currently pursuing his BSc degree in Marine Sciences at University of Chittagong. His research interests lie in the field of coastal and marine aquaculture. Particularly, he is interested to contribute in technological advancement for enhancing coastal and marine fisheries production that reduce pressure on wild catches and promote the blue economy of the country.
Arifur Rahaman is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science at the Institute of Marine Sciences, University of Chittagong. His research interest focuses on the fields of marine biology, with a particular emphasis on the understanding of the impact on marine life corresponding to the changing pattern of ocean ecosystems.
Md. Maruf Hossain Chowdhury is a senior bachelor’s student studying marine science at the University of Chittagong. His research interests lie in Physical Oceanography focusing on ocean hydrodynamics including geo-physical processes that help to understand currents, wave dynamics, and sea surface conditions of the Bay of Bengal.
Sumaiya Akter Popy is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences at the University of Chittagong. She has a keen interest in remote sensing through satellite imageries of ocean surface, particularly its application to the field of physical oceanography.
Md. Mahfujur Rahman is going to finish his BSc program major in Marine Sciences at University of Chittagong in 2025. He is interested to conduct his research and higher study in the field of physical oceanography. Particularly, he is curious to develop ocean based technology for power generation from renewable energy sources utilizing the hydro-dynamic nature of Bangladesh coast.
